Founder, Derick E. Jones is a native Charlottean, and great-grandson of well-known local construction visionary J.A. Jones (James Addison).

In 1990, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from North Carolina State University and embarked upon a 14 year career in sales and financial services and 5 years in operations for NC based, Lowe's.

In 2005, Derick returned to his family's deep roots in the construction business as a partner of da Vinci Design Group.  He oversaw new business development and managed the computer driven design division of the firm, specializing in 3-D "walk-through's" for clients, prior to construction.

In 2010, Derick formed Addison Building Group to continue the residential design and build business, expand the envision program and carry on the family tradition and namesake.

Derick is a Licensed General Contractor, a Certified NC Renovator, a member of Christ Lutheran Church, an OPRA Youth Sports Coach and Captain of the Queen City Tennis Team at Providence Plantation Racquet and Swim Club.

He married his college sweetheart in 1992 and they enjoy raising their two very active children, Addison and Laney.

As a fourth generation builder, Derick strives to restore and retain what his family has helped create over the past century in Charlotte, through maintaining historic neighborhoods, improving others and striving for architectural integrity in every design he undertakes.
